Interregnum
With the departure of David Pickering in September 2022, we are currently in an Interregnum.
This is a period of time for reflection for the Church Family in our
Benefice of St. John the Baptist (Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor), St. Nicholas (Fyfield) and St. Lawrence (Tubney). This period allows us to reflect on what God is calling us to do, as we seek to grow in our own faith and as we continue to serve the communities in which we live.
Typically interregnums last around a year before the appointment of a new vicar. The process is steered by our Church Wardens (
Chris Carpenter & Ian Blelloch for St. JtB, and Alyson Grove and Sarah MacElvogue for St. N & St. L), in conjunction with support from the Diocese and our Patrons (St. John's College, Oxford).
We had hoped to interview in May, but sadly we did not get any suitable candidates.
We will re-advertise and try again in September.
Timetable:
-

Our Interregnum Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Please give to us your Spirit of wisdom and
revelation so that we might know you better and be
assured of the hope to which you have called us as
your people. Strengthen us with your incomparably
great power as we serve you and our communities,
so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
Please bring to us a person to lead our churches who
loves you and is able to reach out to all kinds of
people, so that together, being rooted and established
in love, we might grasp how wide and long and high
and deep is the love of Christ. We ask this knowing
that you can do more than all we ask or imagine.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
