Men’s Breakfasts at The Waggon and Horses, Southmoor
(public house located on the north side of Faringdon Road, Southmoor, OX13 5BG)
Saturday mornings 8.30am.
(several times a year, dates will be announced as and when)
"Slaying the Dragons"
You are warmly invited to join us at any of these Men's Breakfasts, which men from around the area attend, enabling us to invite Christian speakers from a variety of traditions and denominations, whom we would normally have to travel far to hear. After the communal breakfast the speaker addresses the gathering on a topic of current interest to Christians and others who come from many different denominations and none.
Examples of speakers have included Dr Alan Chapman under the above title, sub-titled, “Destroying the myths in the history of science and faith”, Prof. John Lennox on “Has science buried God?”, Mr Peter Saunders on “Life and Death matters” and Revd. Peter Crookes on “From Ayatollahs to ISIL”. In the future we have planned a visit from a former Director of Research with the Forestry Commission on “Trees in the Bible” and are intending to invite a senior army officer with experience as a Christian in conflict situations such as Afghanistan. A question and answer session follows each presentation.
Cost £7.00 per head for a full English breakfast*, payable on the day.
